Good questions
What is it actually like to work with a travel advisor?
Here are the practical answers—what I plan, how quickly I respond, whether you need to live in Michigan, and what happens after you reach out.

A few things you may be wondering.
If your question is not here, send me a message. You do not need to have the trip figured out first.
Do you only plan cruises?
Nope. Cruises are my specialty, but I also help with all-inclusive resorts, honeymoons, destination weddings, family trips, and other vacations that could use some research and organization.
Do you only work with travelers in Michigan?
Not at all. I’m based in the Greater Grand Rapids area and serve West Michigan locally, but most planning can be handled remotely. Travelers outside Michigan are welcome, and local in-person meetings may be available by arrangement.
Do you charge a planning fee?
Not at this time. I do not currently charge travelers a planning or consultation fee. If that ever changes, I’ll explain it clearly before any work begins.
How far ahead should I reach out?
Earlier usually means more options, but you do not need exact dates or a finished plan before contacting me. If the trip is already coming up soon, it is still worth asking.
What happens after I submit the form?
I’ll respond within 24 hours. Once we have confirmed the trip details, I aim to send your proposal within two business days. More complex trips may take longer, but I’ll tell you the expected turnaround before I begin researching.
What parts of the trip can you help with?
That depends on the trip, but planning may include cruises or resorts, accommodations, transfers, excursions, and other available components that make sense together. I’ll be clear about what I can arrange and what you will need to handle separately before we move forward.
Do you discuss travel protection?
Yes. Travel protection is worth discussing before you make final decisions. Coverage, exclusions, eligibility, and claims are controlled by the provider’s plan documents, so I’ll point you to the applicable information and you should review it carefully before purchasing.
What happens if plans change or a supplier cancels?
Change and cancellation rules come from the cruise line, resort, airline, tour operator, or other supplier involved. I’ll explain the terms available at booking and help you work through the supplier’s process if something changes, but refunds and credits are ultimately governed by those supplier terms and any travel protection coverage.
Who checks passports, visas, and entry requirements?
Each traveler is responsible for having the correct identification and meeting current passport, visa, health, and entry requirements. I may flag common considerations, but requirements can change, so travelers should confirm them through official government sources before departure.
How are trip payments handled?
When a payment is due, I’ll provide the applicable secure payment instructions and supplier deadline. Please never send card details by ordinary email or text. Deposit amounts, final-payment dates, and cancellation terms vary by supplier and will be explained before you authorize payment.
Do you stay involved after the trip is booked?
Yes. I remain your planning contact as the trip gets closer, help keep the important details organized, and follow up afterward for feedback. The exact support depends on what is included in your trip and the supplier involved.
Can I call or text instead?
Absolutely. The number is call and text enabled. I may not always be able to answer a call right away, so please leave a voicemail or send a text and I’ll get back to you.
Are you part of a larger agency?
K Travel Co. is my independent business, and I’m an independent travel advisor with the WorldVia Travel Network. WorldVia provides agency tools, education, and supplier relationships behind the scenes; you work directly with me from start to finish.
Still wondering about something?
Ask before you overthink it.
A destination, rough date, or “I really need a vacation” is plenty to begin.
